How to Draw Countertops
- 1). Use the ruler or protractor as a straight edge to draw a straight horizontal line in the middle of your paper, about five inches long. Measure two inches below and an inch to the left of that line and draw a dot. Draw another line from the dot that goes to the right and is the same length as the top line. You should now have two lines with the bottom one off center from the top one.
- 2). Make a 45-degree angled line with the ruler/protractor that connects the left ends of the top and bottom line. Do the same for the right side. You should now have your 3D countertop surface. Add a half-inch line to the bottom left and bottom right corners.
- 3). Draw a horizontal line than connects these two small lines together. This gives the appearance of depth to the countertop surface. Measure inward an inch from the bottom left and right angles of the bottom line, and draw a vertical line from each point a few inches in length. This is the body of the counter.
- 4). Erase and errant lines you may have made. Trace your drawing in the black ink to make it stand out on the page; then write in any measurements you have in mind for the countertop, such as length, depth and width.
