How Can I Get Rid of Scabies Naturally?

    Citrus Products

    • There are a few juices and oils that you can spread over your body once a scabies infection has erupted. Products containing citrus are among the most effective. A juice such as orange or grapefruit juice, a mouthwash that is citrus based, or a citrus cleaner that is okay to use topically can get rid of that annoying itch. Get into a bathtub and pour the citrus product of your choice over your body. Give it about 5 minutes to dry completely then rinse thoroughly with water. This can be done every day until the scabies have disappeared.

    Oils

    • There are three natural oils that can help get rid of scabies: neem oil, peppermint oil, and tea-tree oil. These are industrial-strength oils so be sure to test them on a small patch of sin before covering your entire body with them. You do not want to have an allergic skin reaction. If they are too strong, they can be diluted with vegetable oil. Use any of these three oils the same you would citrus except you do not rinse these off. Pour a small amount into the palm of your hand and spread over the body as you would lotion. This can be a daily routine until scabies are gone.

    Bath & Body

    • To prevent itching, try soaking in cool bath water or taking a cold shower. Do not use abrasive soaps such as Lava or any dermabrasion soap that may aggravate your skin. You may soak a washcloth with cold water and apply to the affected areas to stop the itch. Apply calamine lotion to soothe and moisturize dry skin. You may also benefit from taking an antihistamine to alleviate the pain and irritation.

    House Cleaning

    • Vacuum the house every other day while a resident is infected with scabies. If the vacuum cleaner has a bag, throw the bag away each time you vacuum and do not open it up. If the vacuum cleaner has a removable filter, discard the contents in an outdoor trash bin. You don't want scabies to infiltrate the house and cause another infection.

Keep all clothing and bedding touched by the infected person sequestered in a plastic bag. Continue to accumulate everything he touches in this bag until the infection has disappeared. Then wash all of these items in a hot wash and dry them in extreme heat. This will kill off any scabies that remain there.
