• The best way to remove stains from suede leather is to use professional leather cleaning products. They can be expensive, but you get what you pay for. Leather manufacturers create kits specially designed to safely remove tough stains such as ink from the suede leather. There are also professional cleaning products manufactured to remove dust from suede leather; dust accumulates quickly, and will dull and discolor the suede.
  
  Similarly, a common stain seen on suede leather clothing, such as vests, are fading stains made by body oil. You will often see these on the collars, necklines or underarms of suede vests. For these stains, professional leather degreaser and leather polish are the best solutions.
  
  Whenever you use these products, apply as little as possible so as not to saturate the leather. Also, use only soft, lint-free cloths, because harsh or abrasive cleaning will easily scratch the suede leather surface.
  
  

In-Home Tips

• If you cannot use professional products for cleaning your suede leather, there are some in-home methods you can use. For instance, if a grease or oil stain mars your suede leather, immediately apply a dry, absorbent cleaner such as talcum powder or cornmeal. These dry cleaners should absorb the oil, and after a few hours you can just brush them off and the stain will go with them.
  
  To remove dry stains such as mud or wax, just peel them off with the dull edge of a spoon or butter knife. If the wax won't dry fast enough for you to scrape it away, place a few ice cubes in a plastic bag and hold it over the stain to make it hard enough to scrape away.

• If a spill occurs on your suede leather, act immediately. Blot up as much of the spill as you can with clean towels or paper towels. If you can prevent most of the spill from soaking into the surface of the suede, you can prevent most stains from happening.
