How to Submit Product Samples for Review in a Magazine
- 1). Select a magazine to send the product samples. Choose a publication that corresponds well with the product you are selling. For example, you could send shampoo samples to a women's magazine, whereas you might send electric razors to a magazine aimed at men. Knowing your target market will increase the chances of the magazine doing a review on your product samples.
- 2). Type a brief letter to the magazine, describing the product and your interest in having them do a review. Address the magazine's product editor at the top of the page and explain why you believe the product would be beneficial to their target audience, as well as describe its key selling points. Convey this information in five to ten sentences and detail your company's contact information at the bottom.
- 3). Visit the magazine's website. Navigate to the "Contact" section and find the mailing address for "Advertising Inquiries."
- 4). Address an envelope to the mailing address listed on the magazine's website. Write the words "RE: Product Sample" directly below the address.
- 5). Place your letter, along with one or two product samples, into the envelope and mail the letter. If your product is small, enclose more than one sample, as it will allow the magazine to provide the most comprehensive review.
