Can You Lose Weight After Only One Month on Nutrisystem?

I recently heard from someone who was seriously considering trying the Nutrisystem diet but who was also on a very tight deadline.
Her boyfriend had asked her to go on a cruise that was only a month away.
Since the destination was the Caribbean, she knew that she'd be wearing a bathing suit for much of the time.
She wanted to look better in this clothing but she didn't know if one month was going to be enough time in which to see a noticeable difference.
She asked if it was possible to lose a decent amount of weight after only 4 weeks on this diet.
I'll share my opinion and research on this in the following article.
Average Or Typical Nutrisystem Weight Loss: There have been clinical studies that can help to give us some idea of what most people experience.
In addition to this, I spend a lot of time on weight loss forums and blogs that discuss this diet.
I also know many people (myself included) who can share their experiences.
From all of those things, it's my opinion that a 2 - 3 pound weekly weight loss on Nutrisystem is very doable for most people.
These are the numbers that the company usually focuses on.
I find them to be a little lower than what many people see, but I understand that they want to make it easy to feel successful.
Having said that, it's important to understand that you might not lose the same amount of weight or pounds each and every week.
While you might lose 4 pounds one week, you might only lose 3 the next, as one example.
But, your average will generally remain in a reasonably reliable range, at least that has been my experience.
In the example that I just gave, you're looking at an average of around 3 1/2 pounds lost per week.
This is not asking a lot.
Since you're taking in around 1200 - 1500 calories per day, you should be taking in considerably less calories than you are putting out.
And since Nutrisystem is a low glycemic diet, you should have ketosis working for you relatively soon after you get started as well.
In the example that I just gave, losing around 15 pounds in one month is not out of the question.
And this example was given with just following the diet without any exercise or additional efforts.
If you want more dramatic or faster results, you can always add in more movement.
Getting Quick And Dramatic Results After A Month On Nutrisystem: Hopefully, you can now see that the woman who wrote me was likely looking at a 8 - 12 pound weight loss after one month (if she just followed the directions and didn't try to overachieve.
) But most of the studies do not include or stress exercise.
Since the person who wrote to me was hoping to look nice in a bathing suit, I strongly encouraged her to do some toning and weight training.
This would help with those "problem spots" that she was worrying about and would give her longer and leaner lines.
She was strapped for time but even using a weight vest while walking or running errands can bring on dramatic results.
She could also be careful of which side items she was adding in.
You're asked to add in veggies, fruits, or dairy to each meal.
I've found that if you're careful about the glycemic index of your add ins, you can sometimes get into ketosis a little more quickly.
However, although it can be tempting to skip meals, I don't recommend this.
You need fuel to maintain ketosis.
And the meals are very low in calories and carbs to begin with.
I felt that the woman could very definitely see a decent amount of weight loss and changes in her body after only a month on Nutrisystem.
She was reasonably slim to start with, so even a 10 pound weight loss (especially with some toning) was going to make a noticeable difference.
