How to Tie Raft Rescue Line Knots
- 1). Form a small loop in the rope at the point where you want the knot. Leave enough line past the loop to form the larger loop at the end of the rope.
- 2). Insert the end of the rope through the underside of the small loop. Wrap the end of the rope around the body of the rope above the small loop. Insert the end of the rope back through the small loop.
- 3). Grasp the small loop and end of the rope and pull on the body of the rope to tighten the knot.
- 1). Insert the end of the rope through the anchor ring, raft handle or other object you want to tie the rope to. Loop the end around and insert it through the object again.
- 2). Wrap the end of the rope around the body of the rope and insert it through the loop you just made around the object.
- 3). Pull the knot tight around the object. Wrap the end of the rope around the body of the rope to form another loop. Insert the end of the rope through the loop you just made. Pull the rope tight.
- 1). Grasp the end of the rope in one hand. Hook the rope under one end of the mooring cleat.
- 2). Cross the rope over the top of the cleat and hook the rope under the other end of the cleat in the opposite direction. Repeat two or three more times, working in a figure-eight pattern.
- 3). Insert the end of the rope under the last pass of rope over the cleat. Pull the rope tight to secure the hitch knot.
