How to Paint on Plastic With Paint Markers
- 1). Clean the plastic figurine you wish to paint.
- 2). Lay out a large layer of newspaper on which to prime and paint your plastic object. This will protect your work surface.
- 3). Apply a spray-on primer designed specifically for plastics. Primers tend to eat away at plastic and so should be sprayed at a close distance with single, quick passes of the spray over the plastic object. Allow each layer of primer to dry completely before adding another.
- 4). Allow the plastic object to dry completely.
- 5). Apply your paint to the plastic object with your paint markers. Follow the directions on the markers for best results. You may have to shake the applicator prior to use.
