Painting Flowers & Vines on Glass

    • 1). Clean the outside of the glass with rubbing alcohol and a microfiber cloth.

    • 2). Paint the flower and vines on the outside of the glass with acrylic enamel paint with a synthetic fiber brush. Attach a paper stencil to the inside of the glass with clear tape, if possible, to use as a tracing outline as an alternative to a freehand creation. Remove the stencil once you are finished painting. Allow four hours for the paint to dry or before adding a second coat. Allow two full days for the paint to air dry before putting the glass into the oven.

    • 3). Preheat your oven to 325 degrees. Place the painted glass onto a cookie shut. Put the glass and cookie sheet into the oven for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove the cookie sheet and glass with an oven mitt. Allow two hours for the glass to cool.

    • 4). Coat the painting with polyurethane varnish with a synthetic fiber brush. Allow 30 minutes for the varnish to dry.
