  Residential drama summer schools are available for teenagers and young adults. These programs provide students with an opportunity to learn, collaborate and perform on stage and on camera. Students are allowed to immerse themselves into the world of acting for weeks at a time and develop the knowledge and skills necessary to prepare for future acting opportunities.
  
  

School of Cinema and Performing Arts

• The School of Cinema and Performing Arts offers a residential summer drama program at Champlain College in Burlington, Vt. Students stay in residential housing located on campus and meals are available in the dining hall. Students have access to a fitness center, game room and student lounge. The three-week acting program is for students ages 14 to 18 and offers them opportunities to work on monologues, scenes and acting exercises for film. Students are able to work in front of the camera and take home a reel of their work.

The Julliard School

• The Julliard School offers a residential summer acting program for teenagers 14 to 19. Students are able to stay at the Meredith Wilson Residence Hall in New York City. The program offers courses in acting, playwriting, dance, voice, improve, stage combat and movement. This four-week program helps students improve their drama skills and prepare them for upcoming productions. In order to apply to the program, applicants must send an audition DVD.

Actors Movement Theatre

• The Acting Shakespeare Teen Summer Intensive at the Actors Movement Theatre prepares students to understand and perform Shakespeare's plays and sonnets. The three-week program offers dorm housing to students and provides them with a variety of master teachers and guest artists. The curriculum includes courses in Shakespearean text, Shakespeare monologue and scene work and Williamson Physical Technique.
