How to Create Wall Art

Instructions

1

Take an inventory of your space. Look at the area you wish to decorate and figure out how many pieces of wall art you need to acquire. Decide whether you want to fill the space with one large piece of art or break it up into smaller pieces and display a series of works.
2

Evaluate the room. If it already has a theme, you can easily carry the theme over to your new wall art. If you collect shells or sailboats, you could frame fabric from an old sailboat or hang shadow boxes filled with sand and seashells.
3

Frame your most prized possessions. Take some of your favorite snapshots and have them blown up at your local copy shop. A quick framing, and you have instant wall art that tells a story. For a really dramatic effect, change the photo to black and white or sepia tone before printing.
4

Hang love letters. There is an air of romance about a handwritten love note; so bring out the shoe boxes and start framing.
5

Get the paint out and get to work. Abstract art is the easiest type to create. Just throw a little paint on a canvas, and you're done, with no artistic skill necessary.
6

Cut up your pillows. If you want to create wall art that matches your theme perfectly, snip the seams on a pillow case and frame the patterned fabric.
