Let God"s Love Dominate You

Your are familiar with the old written law, 'Love your friend,' and its unwritten companion, 'Hate your enemy.
' I'm challenging that.
I'm telling you to love your enemies.
Let them bring out the best in you, not the worst...
(Matthew 5:43-44 MSG) The society tells you to love your friends and hate your enemies.
On the contrary, the lord Jesus is teaching you in the portion of the scripture you have just read to love both your friends and enemies.
It is important to note that He was addressing men who were not born again; people who still thought of their enemies as flesh and blood.
Sadly, some Christians still think this way, and sometimes pray against their enemies saying, "Oh Lord! Fight against my enemies, destroy them...
" The real enemy every Christian has is Satan and not any human person.
Therefore, no Christian should worry about any human person somewhere (Ephesians 6:12).
Beyond this, you also need to be God-conscious rather than enemy-conscious.
You can not be God-conscious until you are conscious of God's love.
This is why you must always take out time to mediate on the love of God.
Think about His grace, kindness and how He chose you to be His child, in spite of your imperfections.
Always remember that if you were the only one on earth, the lord Jesus would still have given His life for you.
Just as the man in Matthew 13:44 sold everything he had to buy a field because of the treasure in it, you are the treasure Jesus saw that He willingly gave His life for.
When you let the love of God dominate you as you meditate on His Word, you will cease to be enemy-conscious.
