It can be difficult to find gifts for car lovers. Since they spend most of their time with their cars, they usually have all the latest gadgets. Even if they haven't bought the newest items yet, car lovers have already conducted research about them, and they know exactly what they want. - Since a car lover spends most of his time and energy on his car, he likely has many manuals, tools, supplies, and gadgets. Give him organizational tools to keep his world in order. Give him a metal magazine rack with the logo of his favorite brand, emblazoned on the side. Purchase him a set of shelves or cabinets to store all the nuts, bolts, and tools he needs to work on his car. Give him a basket for waste in his car so he can keep the seats and floor free of trash. If his old vehicle does not include any cups for change or cup holders, purchase a clip-on cup or holder to go in his car.
- Order a subscription to a car enthusiast magazine or surprise him by ordering a racing channel on his cable network. Buy him a vintage book or manual about his favorite car or a new book about the history or technology of racing. Sign him up for a racing school or a pit crew opportunity at a local race track. If your local race track allows drivers of certain vehicles, such as vintage or sports cars, sign him up for a slot.
- Keep your car lover in touch with the rest of the world with some communication tools. Purchase a satellite radio or MP3 player matching her speaker or radio system, that she can listen to in her car. If she is trying to stay off the radar, she might enjoy a speed camera or speed trap alert system. Check the local laws regarding these devices and make sure you purchase a discreet system that won't distract from your loved one's perfectly manicured dashboard.
- If your loved one has a particular affiliation, purchase a simple, tasteful bumper sticker he can use on the window or bumper of his car. If bumper stickers aren't in his taste, why not decorate his garage or workspace a bit? Buy tin or vintage posters of races or of his favorite car models. Take a picture of yourself with his car. Use photo editing software to create a poster. Print the picture, frame it, and place in the garage, reminding him to come in every once in a while.
