How to List a New Business
- 1). Navigate to your business website front page. You want the first page that customers visit to be the one that clearly displays your business logo, products or services and recent news or developments.
- 2). Use your mouse to highlight the entire URL address located in the top of your browser window. Navigate to the "Edit" selection in your browser window and choose "Copy."
- 3). Select a company or submission service that specializes in submitting your business website to a variety of Internet search engines. The process of visiting each and every search engine available on the internet and adding your business website and information to their search database is time consuming. Companies that specialize in business listings have the ability to submit your content to search engines simultaneously.
- 4). Research Internet search engines if you do not want to pay for the services of a business listing company. There are many available sites from which to choose. As of 2010, examples include Google, Bing, Ask and Yahoo.
- 5). Fill out the necessary online form to initiate the listing process for your new business. You must provide your website in the required field by pasting your copied URL address. Depending on the search engine, you may be required to fill out a JavaScript box with certain letters to verify you are not a spam robot.
