How to Install F-PROT on Ubuntu
- 1). Press "Control-Alt-F1" at the Ubuntu login prompt to bring up a text-mode login prompt. Enter your user name and password. Ubuntu will present you with a command-line prompt, also known as a "shell".
- 2). Type the following command into the shell to elevate its privileges:
sudo -l
Press "Enter," then enter your password and press "Enter" again. - 3). Type the following command into the shell to instruct Ubuntu to perform the two-step installation of F-Prot:
apt-get install f-prot-installer
Press "Enter." Ubuntu will download the downloader script and execute it. The script will, in turn, automatically download, install, and start the latest stable build of F-Prot Antivirus for Linux.
