How to Customize iPhone Sounds
- 1). Tap the "Settings" icon, typically located on the iPhone home screen. Select "Sounds" from the Settings menu.
- 2). Select "Ringtone" to change the primary ringtone; this is the tone that you will hear for callers who don't have a custom ringtone set. Tap on a ringtone to select it and touch "Sounds" to return to the menu.
- 3). Tap "New Text Message" to select a notification sound for incoming text messages. Touch the tone that you want to use and tap "Sounds" to go back to the sound settings.
- 4). Touch the "On/Off" switch next to the individual sound settings to turn them on or off. You can toggle the audio on or off for new email, sent email, calendar alerts, keyboard clicks or locking and unlocking the iPhone.
- 5). Press the "Home" button to exit the settings menu when you have finished customizing your iPhone sounds.
- 1). Tap "Contacts" to open your address book.
- 2). Touch the name of the contact to whom you want to assign a custom ringtone.
- 3). Touch "Ringtone" and select a ringtone from the list. A checkmark will be displayed beside the tone that you select.
- 4). Tap "Info" to save your selection and return to the contact information screen. If you want to add individual ringtones to your other contacts, tap "All Contacts" to return to the contact list. If you are finished, press "Home" to exit the Contacts application.
