How to Start a Telemarketing Company
- 1). Make a business plan for your telemarketing business. This will serve as a guide in running your business. The business plan should include details such as what qualifications your employees need to have, where you are going to put up your company and what type of businesses should be your clients. Also include the budget and salary plan for your company.
- 2). Apply for a business license. You will need to wait about two weeks for the application to process. Pay the application fee, which will be between $50 and $100. The requirements for a business license may vary depending on what state you are in. Check with your local government office for the specific requirements.
- 3). Hire employees, preferably those with telemarketing experience. Hiring people who know about the nature of the business would benefit you as you start your new company because you wouldn't need to train them as much.
- 4). Look for a location for your office. Set up your employees' work stations. Buy phones, phone books and computers for each work station.
- 5). Find telemarketing jobs. Call companies, ask them if they have any cold calling they need done and offer them your services. You can also find large telemarketing jobs online. Check Craigslist.com, Guru.com, and Elance.com.
- 6). Introduce your business to large technology firms, cell phone companies and charity organizations. These companies often need telemarketers. If they currently don't need your services, ask them to tell other companies about your services.
