Recognising The Signs Of Jealousy
Whether you are in a relationship where you are the jealous partner, whether it's your significant other, or both of you; understanding and recognising that you are a jealous partner is the first step to taking action to either solve the problem or end the relationship.
Harsh words you may think, but you know, as well as I do (as a sufferer or jealousy) that it can be destructive, it can cause you no end of trouble and it not only makes your love one feel awful, it eats away at your own self confidence as well.
So how do we recognise the signs of jealousy and what are they?
If you have, or realise that any of these are present in your current, or even past relationships, you will simply know that it is something you can't take lightly, if you value your relationship and you don't want to lose your love. Remember that feeling when either you or your partner feel tense when you see them talking to someone else? It could be anyone, even a close friend.. But you start to wonder what is going on, why they are doing it, what they are talking about. Maybe you don't say anything outright.. but from here on in jealousy starts to do its worst work inside of you.. And you will never be happy, and never see sense, until you can stop this feeling…
To some, the signs of jealousy are pretty obvious, but to others not so. Let me give you an idea of what you might be feeling:
1. You hate them talking to anyone else and wonder what they are talking about that is so important.
2. You feel the need to talk to them constantly, just to find out what they have been up to. You don't want to ask them outright, but you try to find out.. Even if there is nothing, you try to find something, convinced there is.
3. You want to know all about their past relationships; everything. And then get envious and regret asking.
4. You feel so jealous when your partner remarks on someone else being attractive and then pick holes in yourself constantly after that.
5. If your partner doesn't put you first every time you want to know what they are up to.
6. When someone remarks on how attractive your partner is, you initially feel ok about it. And then the jealousy kicks in and you can't bear it.
7. When your partner does something that doesn't involve you, you feel envious.
You want to be the center of their lives, all of the time!
If you recognise yourself or your partner from the above, the chances are you are suffering from issues of jealousy or if you aren't right now, it is only a matter of time.
But don't worry; recognising the signs of jealousy is the first step. The second step is understanding them and trying to do something about them.
