Instructions for the Pocket Fisherman
- 1). Remove the folded Pocket Fisherman reel from the belt-carry pouch. Pull the rod assembly forward and lock it into place. Press the spool release button on the back of the reel and pull the monofilament fishing line through the two line guides.
- 2). Attach a lure, such as a spinner, to the end of the monofilament line with a Palomar or similar knot suitable for lure attachment.
- 3). Hold the handle of the Pocket Fisherman and place your thumb on the spool-release button on the back of the reel.
- 4). Raise your arm and bring the Pocket Fisherman back over your shoulder. Bring the Pocket Fisherman back forward with a swift motion to begin propelling the lure forward. Raise your thumb from the spool-release button when the rod tip approaches the direction you want the lure to go into the water.
- 5). Turn the handle of the Pocket Fisherman when the lure sinks to the desired depth in the water. Continue turning the handle to take in line and retrieve the lure through the water at the desired speed.
