How to Make a Ceramic Slide for a Guitar

    • 1). Cut 2-inch diameter PVC pipe to a length of 3 inches with a band saw

    • 2). Cut 1-inch diameter PVC pipe to a length of 3 inches with a band saw.

    • 3). Mold self-drying ceramic around the 1-inch pipe. Slide the coated 1-inch pipe into the 2-inch pipe. Place the ceramic as tight as you can between the two pieces of pipe. Move the smaller pipe around until it's centered directly in the larger pipe. Allow 24 hours drying time.

    • 4). Press out the 1-inch pipe. Press out the ceramic slide with your finger.

    • 5). Drive a 3-inch nail into a table side or wall or other object that will hold the weight of the slide.

    • 6). Dip the slide into an air-drying glaze. Place the slide onto the nail for drying.
