How to Paint Teeth
- 1). Wash each tooth with a trisodium phosphate cleanser, using steel wool. Rinse the teeth under a faucet, or use wet rags if the teeth are affixed to an animal skull. Let each tooth dry for an hour.
- 2). Abrade each tooth to promote better adhesion. Sand the teeth until they feel rougher to the tips of your fingers.
- 3). Cover surfaces adjacent to the teeth, using painter's tape. Skip this step if the teeth are loose.
- 4). Place the animal skull or the loose teeth on a canvas drop cloth.
- 5). Apply acrylic primer to each tooth, using a small craft brush; or, apply the primer, using its spray can. If you choose to use a spray can, maintain 8 inches between each tooth and the spray can to prevent ugly sags. Let the teeth dry for two hours.
- 6). Wash the craft brush under a faucet.
- 7). Paint the teeth as you primed them. Apply a strong enamel.
