Anyone in the mood for some new Ghost in the Shell? Production I.G. has just opened a new section on their website to promote the upcoming release of GITS: Stand Alone Complex - Solid State Society. Want more? Of course you do. :)

Directed by Kenji Kamiyama and many of the geniuses from the original series, Solid State Society is a full-length 105 minute feature that puts Major Motoko Kusanagi and Batou at odds with each other and right in the middle of a series of mysterious incidents masterminded by someone only known as the Puppeteer.

Is Motoko the Puppeteer? Maybe...

The movie rang up a hefty budget of 360 million yen ($3.2 million US dollars) and is scheduled to premiere in Japan on SKYPerfecTV pay-per-view on September 1st and hit the DVD shelves on November 24th. Solid State Society will likely make its way to the States as well, but no release date has been announced yet.
