How to Remove Sharpie Marker Paint
- 1). Clean the surface that has Sharpie marks with plain soap and water to remove any additional debris from the surface.
- 2). Place a small amount of Pine-Sol on a damp washcloth (about 2 tbls.) and rub it on the effected area for about 1 minute. If there is a large amount of marker on the area, it may take slightly more pine-sol and more scrubbing time.
- 3). Apply a small amount of nail polish remover without acetone to a sponge if the pine-sol has not removed the entire mark from the sharpie. Rub the nail polish remover over the area for about one minute until the entire mark has come off. Nail polish remover without acetone will not damage any paint or other finish on a surface.
- 4). Wash the area with warm soapy water again to be sure any remaining chemicals are removed. If these chemicals sit on the area, they could begin to discolor the surface.
- 5). Clean off the entire area with a dry paper towel to be sure any and all chemicals are off of the area.
