The alkaline diet has a plethora of advantages, including boosting energy and defending against muscle atrophy and osteoporosis.
However, might the alkaline diet also make it easier to lose weight? Hi, my name is Jane, and today I want to talk about the advantages of the alkaline diet for weight reduction.
As everyone is aware, obesity is a huge problem in the United States and other industrial nations.
A lot of us have tried practically everything to reduce weight, but either these diet programs fail, or else individuals do shed weight, but then they shortly regain it.
Some proponents of this diet argue that the body stores extra fat in response to overacidity, and that as soon as you consume an alkalizing diet, your body will automatically let go of the amassed fat cells.
That is an interesting concept, nonetheless, I'm not sure that it is correct.
For one thing, it is incorrect to say that your body can ever eliminate fat cells.
When you're an adult, you have a specific number of fat cells, and this quantity does not change--no matter how much weight you gain or lose.
When you get rid of fat, your fat cells shrink.
You still have just as many fat cells, but they take up much less room inside your body.
The bottom line about weight reduction is that you need to consume fewer calories than you expend by means of working out and basic metabolic activity.
Consequently, if we want to reveal whether or not this diet is efficient for weight loss, the question we must address is whether this type of diet results in a caloric deficit.
Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a definite answer to this question.
Some alkaline-producing foods are high in fat, even as others are not.
Normally, though, I do think that the alkaline diet is reliable for weight loss.
