Toast 10

• 1). Download Toast 10 (see Resources). Toast 10 is a software application that will allow you to rip your DVDs into various formats for use with external devices or your computer.
  
  
• 2). Open the DVD drive on your computer by pressing the button under the drive. Insert your DVD into the drive and close it with the same button.
  
  
• 3). Open the software application by double-clicking on its icon. Click on the "Convert" tab on the right-hand side of the software window.
  
  
• 4). Select your DVD from the list on the left-hand side of the "Convert" screen. Click on the format that you would like to convert it to.
  
  
• 5). Wait for the software to scan your DVD and then click on the small button on the bottom, right-hand side of the software window. Wait for the software to convert your DVD file.
  
  

Handbrake

• 1). Download Handbrake (see Resources). Handbrake is a freeware program available for Windows, Mac and Linux users. This software program allows users to convert their DVDs and video files into different formats.
  
  
• 2). Double-click on the software icon to launch the program. Open your DVD drive and insert the DVD into your computer. Close the DVD drive and go back to the software window.
  
  
• 3). Click on the "Sources" tab at the top of the software window. Select your DVD from the choices provided.
  
  
• 4). Wait for the software to scan your DVD. Click on the "Track" tab under the "Sources" menu and select the file that you want to convert.
  
  
• 5). Go down to the "Video Format" section and select the format that you would like to convert the file into. Click on the "Start" tab at the top of the software window.
  
  

Magic DVD Ripper

• 1). Download Magic DVD Ripper (see Resources). Magic DVD Ripper is a software application that will allow you to rip your DVDs to your computer in a variety of formats.
  
  
• 2). Open your DVD drive and put your DVD into the drive. Close the drive. Double-click on the software application to launch the program.
  
  
• 3). Select your DVD from the "Sources" tab on the left-hand side of the software window. Click on the "Convert" tab to the right of the "Sources" tab and select the format you want to use.
  
  
• 4). Click on the "Start" button at the bottom left-hand side of the screen.
  
  
• 5). Wait for the software to convert your DVD file.
