A friend of mine recently asked me, "What is the cost of the Jenny Craig diet".
You see, she knew that I'd tried a while ago, and was thinking about it herself.
She'd seen the website, and read a couple of reviews, and it sounded pretty good.
She knew I'd joined Jenny Craig several years ago, but thought I'd still be able to give her a rough idea about how much it would cost.
Well, I couldn't, and even after spending a while on the website I couldn't either.
So why not? The problem is that the cost of the Jenny Craig diet depends on a number of factors.
This is something that they make a big thing of on their website.
Now don't get me wrong.
I'm not saying that the system is a bad one - on the contrary, it's actually very good.
You get a lot of support, and you get your own weight loss "consultant" to help keep you on the diet.
The issue is that they are not particularly "up front" about the costs that you might incur in the long run.
There are joining fees for a start, and most of all, to stay on the diet you actually have to buy special Jenny Craig Meals, which they claim only cost $1 more per meal than the US average, but in my opinion it's a lot more than that.
So to summarise, it's very difficult to know the cost of the Jenny Craig Diet until you're actually on it, by which time you may have committed yourself to spending more than you really wanted to.
So beware!
