    • 1). Lay out your tubes of paint. Mix them up and select three tubes at random. Close your eyes to choose them if you want true randomness.

    • 2). Mix 1 tsp. of each color together in a container.

    • 3). Select two colors at random. Mix 1 tsp. of each in a container.

    • 4). Select three colors at random. Put 1 tsp. of each into individual containers.

    • 5). Thin the paint in each container with a small amount of water. Stir the mixtures with a brush until consistent.

    • 6). Place your painting surface flat on a work table or floor.

    • 7). Select a container at random. Apply several brushstrokes to the painting surface, rotate the surface 90 degrees. Repeat until you have come full circle.

    • 8). Repeat the process with randomly selected containers. Vary the size and type of brushstrokes. You can even pour the paint, or toss it onto the flat surface with a heavily loaded brush.

    • 9). Avoid any organization that may begin to occur in the process. If you see an image starting to appear, paint over it or through it to enhance the chaos. Stop when you have a painting that is sufficiently chaotic for your needs.
