Fundraising Ideas for My Tennis Team

    Tennis Camp

    • Involve your team members in the fundraising efforts by scheduling a tennis camp for children in the area. High school tennis teams can target their camp to younger children, while college or adult tennis teams can conduct camps for all ages. Set up the camp on a single weekend or plan sessions over a semester or year. Ask team members to conduct workshops and classes that make the most of their strongest areas. You might plan serving workshops, for example, or classes that work on developing a stronger backhand. Tailor classes to the interests of participants. Advertise the camp with local schools, in newspapers, on television, radio and on websites dedicated to your area.

    Tennis Tournament

    • Get other tennis players in your area interested and involved with your team by holding a tennis tournament. Invite players from other teams, individuals and professionals to join in, and offer registration one to two months in advance. Charge a fee to sign up and use your home tennis courts as the location. During the tournament, charge an entrance fee for family friends, and offer refreshments for sale.

    Set Pledge

    • Turn your season or a specific tournament into a fundraising opportunity by soliciting set pledges. Ask friends and family to pledge a certain amount of money towards each set you win, and track progress on your team's website. During the designated event, have a dedicated volunteer keep track of each team member's performance and post it on the scoreboard or on a projection screen. Award a prize to the team member with the highest amount of money raised at the end of the event.

    Sporting Goods Swap

    • Reach out to other sports enthusiasts in your area by conducting a sporting goods swap. Use your gym or tennis courts as the location, depending on the weather, and set out tables. Ask the community to donate their old sporting equipment or offer to split the commission on equipment. To make the event more attractive, you might send a percentage of the profits to a charity. Use your team members as volunteers and conduct the event on a weekend day; the profits from the sale of the sporting equipment can go toward your tennis team.
