Food Intolerance"s Effect in Strict Candida Diet
My friend thinks her son (who is in a strict candida diet) had his first reaction to a bad food today.
She has been pretty strict with her 7 year old son and he's doing great.
She just started him on the caprylic acid and garlic, along with his others.
She believes he has an extreme cleansing the last few days.
Anyways, me and my friend, and our kids all went out today to a Chucky Cheese type place.
We all stopped and ate before hand at McDonalds.
She packed him a separate lunch that he brought in.
She really felt sorry for him that everyone got to eat except him, so she gave him 2 hot wheels cars, and an Oreo cookie.
In a month of doing this, this is his only second sweet thing.
He had that at 11 am, and around 3-4 he became extremely whiny, and crying for no reason, and having major mood swings.
He then started complaining his tummy hurt and ran to the bathroom.
He had complete runs, and even went in his pants.
He kept saying his tummy was really hurting him.
When he was done she noticed he has red blotches on his face.
She is confused and wondered if this is the reaction she can expect with the candida and sweets.
She told him it was probably from the cookie, and then next time he will make the choice: the cookie or the pain.
And he said he won't have a cookie anymore.
But, still, she doesn't know what the reason is.
From what I see, his reaction sounds like one of food intolerance.
When the body cleanses and begins to heal, it can react pretty strong to a food that the body cannot tolerate being re-introduced.
Never fear, this is a great way to find out one by one exactly which foods are the offending culprit.
If you keep a diary of all this, you are even one step further.
I admire her giving her son the option to choose the Oreo or the belly ache next time.
He will be a grown man one day, probably with many food intolerances, or not, but he will need to make his own decisions.
You can either "Mother Smother" your son or you can empower him to make his own common sense choices in life from a young age.
It sounds like you have the reins on this one.
