    • 1). Work the edge of the floor scraper between one of the seams in the linoleum tile that has started coming up because of the water damage. Push the scraper forward to get completely under the tile and pop it up.

    • 2). Push on the exposed edges of the adjacent tiles from there, using the floor scraper. Work your way out over the whole floor, taking up all the tiles.

    • 3). Use the razor scraper to remove any residual adhesive. Let the subfloor floor completely dry; this takes at least 48 hours.

    • 4). Thoroughly sweep the floor.

    • 5). Lay two chalk lines over the whole floor, from the center of each edge of the floor to the center of the side across from it, using chalk snaplines, dividing the floor into four squares that meet in the middle.

    • 6). Spread adhesive over a few square feet at the middle of the floor using a notched trowel, filling one of the four corners created by the intersection of the lines.

    • 7). Set the first linoleum tile into the adhesive at the corner of the lines. Set another tile against it, butting it tightly. Repeat this, setting the tiles off one another in a grid pattern along the lines, spreading more adhesive as needed.

    • 8). Cover the whole floor. Cut the tiles to set around the edges using a vinyl tile cutter; set the tiles with the cut sides facing the walls.
