Some cat furniture with large round tubes have holes in the side to give the cat a different exit, either when fleeing its nemesis or attacking the evil hand of the human. Make sure that the surfaces of the cat furniture are carpeted. This is both for safety and to give your cat a place more acceptable than the rug or sofa to sharpen its claws. Cat furniture with multiple levels and a combination of platforms and tubes is often good. Supports that are wrapped in rope are sometimes more conducive to feline climbing. Strings hanging from higher places often give your cat other visually interesting elements that can make for hours of entertainment.
  
  

Cat Furniture Placement

• Be aware of your cat's play times when placing furniture. If you have a pair of overly nocturnal cats who love to race around and play at 3 in the morning, putting the cat gym near human sleeping areas is a recipe for conflict. Place cat furniture and cat gyms strategically. If you have cabinets that are okay for cats, place the gym nearby to give them a route to higher ground.
