How to Uninstall iPlayer

    Windows Users

    • 1). Click the Windows "Start" button and click the "Control Panel."

    • 2). Click "Uninstall a Program" or "Programs and Features" depending on your Control Panel view. You should see a list of installed programs.

    • 3). Scroll down, click "BBC iPlayer Desktop," and then click the "Uninstall" button. If prompted, enter your administrator password and click "Continue." Confirm your selection. Wait a few minutes for the uninstaller to remove the player automatically. Close the window when you see the uninstall confirmation message.

    Mac Users

    • 1). Close the BBC iPlayer Desktop if it's running.

    • 2). Click "Finder" on the desktop to launch a new Finder window, and then click "Applications" to open the Applications folder.

    • 3). Locate "BBC iPlayer Desktop," then hold "Ctrl," and click the mouse to open the menu. Select "Move to trash."

    • 4). Navigate to the following folders in the Finder window:

      /Users/[your user name]/Library/Preferences

      Right-click the following folder inside the "Preferences" folder and click "Move to trash":

      /BBCiPlayerDesktop.61DB7A798358575D6A969CCD73DDBBD723A6DA9D.1/

    • 5). Navigate to the following folders in the Finder window:

      /Users/[your user name]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AIR/ELS

      Right-click the following folder inside the "ELS" folder and click "Move to trash":

      /BBCiPlayerDesktop.61DB7A798358575D6A969CCD73DDBBD723A6DA9D.1/
