What Is the File Extension .DVR?
- DVR files can be identified by the letters "dvr" after the dot in the file name. It may appear like this: "filename.dvr."
- DVR files may be user-generated video files. They may also be driver files (DVR stands for "DriVeR").
- Microsoft Windows Media Center and Planet Technology applications often store files with the DVR extension. Windows also uses driver files that have the DVR extension.
- Since the DVR extension is shared with user files and system files, it is prudent to find which program is associated with a particular file if deleting. The folder where the file is stored should provide more information.
- Never delete DVR files if they are in the Windows folder. This may render your computer unbootable.
