How to Remove Line Paint
- 1). Wash the car thoroughly to assess the areas of damage; dry with a sham cloth. Examine whether the paint damage occurs in thin dots or thicker blobs or possibly a combination of both.
- 2). Attack the thicker blobs first with a plastic razor blade purchased at the auto parts store. Lightly heat up the paint blobs with a hairdryer and position the razor blade under the blob, wiggling it to get further beneath it. Pry it off gently to remove paint and continue on other spots.
- 3). Open your package of detailing clay and shape it into a flat oval. Rub the surface of the car to loosen remaining paint dots, kneading the clay to reveal fresh areas as you work. Remove excess clay with a microfiber cleaning cloth.
- 4). Purchase industrial-strength graffiti and adhesive remover wipes. Lay the wipe over the affected area, smooth side down, and allow it to sit for one minute to soften the paint. Flip the wipe over, using the textured area to scrub the paint spots vigorously. Repeat as needed.
- 5). Thoroughly wash and wax the car after the paint is removed to bring back its luster.
