How to Disable Windows XP Genuine
- 1). Restart your computer and click the "F8" key as it starts to boot.
- 2). Select "Safe Mode with Networking" from the boot menu and hit "Enter."
- 3). Click "Start" and "My Computer." Double-click the drive with your Windows installation.
- 4). Navigate to the "Windows" folder and then click "System32."
- 5). Rename "WgaLogon.dll" and "wgatray.exe" by right-clicking on the files and choosing "rename." Append ".bak" onto the end of each of these files and click "Yes" to confirm.
- 6). Click "Start," then "Run." Enter "regedit" and hit "Enter." Navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE." Click "SOFTWARE," then "Microsoft," "Windows NT" and "Current Version." Click "Winlogon" and "Notify." Find and right-click the "WgaLogon" folder and choose "Delete." Restart your computer and the notifications will be disabled.
