    • 1). Determine the length and width of your shadow box. This should be based on the size of the material you want in your shadow box. A fuller bouquet will require different measurements than a single flower or a smaller corsage.

    • 2). Measure and cut four pieces of wood according to the predetermined lengths. Two of these pieces will be the sides of your shadow box (length) and the other two will be the top and bottom (width).

    • 3). Measure and cut a piece of plywood to fit the back of your shadow box.

    • 4). Measure and cut a piece of plastic sheeting to act as the front of your shadow box.

    • 5). Attach the sides to the plywood by stringing a thin bead of wood glue along the outside of the plywood. Also, glue the sides, top and bottom together where they meet. Reinforce your box by placing screws in the places you put wood glue.

    • 6). Assemble your dried floral arrangement in your shadow box. When putting flowers into a shadow box, it's important that they are dried and sprayed with a dried flower preservation spray. This will prevent them from falling apart over time in your box.

    • 7). Place a thin string of glue along the outside edge of the front of the box. Lay your plastic sheeting on top of it.

    • 8). Cut decorative wooden molding to fit around the edges of your box. This will be used to cover up any glue or screws and will also add a nice decorative touch to your box.

    • 9). Attach your molding by using small finishing nails. Nail through the molding, plastic sheeting and into the plywood.

Cover up any nail indentations using an inexpensive auto-body compound. Finish it up by painting or staining the wood.
