A 2012 graduate of Boyertown Area Senior High is now in the process of making his dreams come true - one shoe at a time.

What started off with a pair of blank department shoes and Sharpie marker designs has quickly become a revolutionary industry orchestrated by 19-year-old Kevin Ostromecki.

Hundreds of shoes, custom designed by Ostromecki's own hands, are now making their way onto the streets.

Through a team of good friends, new and old, and upon reaching out to shoe manufacturers to order wholesale, Ostromecki's Altix Clothing brand was formed and a website has been launched.

Interested parties can go onto the website, altixclothing.com, describe the design they desire and Ostromecki will meet that request to the best of his ability.

The journey all began a year ago, during his senior year of high school, when Ostromecki had a blank pair of shoes and decided to draw on them. A friend immediately noticed the personally designed shoes and wanted a pair. He fulfilled the request, and decided to call his product Hero Shoes.

Six months later, the high school graduate made another pair and then another.

"Everyone wanted them," says Ostromecki. "It spread like wildfire. Nobody else is doing it."

Since then he has made more than 400 pairs of Hero Shoes.

A Facebook page, a Twitter account, a YouTube video and an Instragram account quickly followed the website's launch in order to boost interest - and each one did exactly that.

Altix Clothing now works with various musicians and is currently an official sponsor of the Flight to Unite tour and the Up to No Good tour.

Ostromecki has since retired his trusted Sharpies and now uses specialized fabric markers for his designs.

"The artwork is hard to replicate," says Ostromecki. "At this point, people like the signature style."

According to the young entrepreneur, he'll continue to do his own designs by hand for as long as he can keep up with demand.

"This company that I have created and am working so hard and passionately on is being nationally noticed and responses have been phenomenal," he said. "Altix Clothing isn't simply a clothing company; it's a project and a vision. It's a message of hope and a new wave of a culture following their dreams and living life to the fullest. I have the best `team' surrounding me who believe in this vision as much as I do."

According to Ostromecki, the strong flow of advertising through social media has led to the line's success. In addition to their online outreach, the team also travels to schools and concert venues throughout Pennsylvania with flyers in hand.

He is also reaching out to friends across the country in hopes that the network of interest will continue to grow.

Ostromecki is currently a student at Alright College majoring in business and graphic design.
