How to Allow Microsoft to Manage Wireless Connections
- 1). Click "Start," then right-click the "Computer" tab. Click "Manage" when the pop-up menu appears.
- 2). Wait for the "Computer Management" window to appear, then double-click "Services and Applications" in the left side of the window. Click "Services" when the "Services and Applications" link expands.
- 3). Scroll down to and double-click the "WLAN AutoConfig" service option. After the "WLAN AutoConfig" properties window opens, click the drop-down box next to the "Startup type:" label. Select the "Automatic" option, then click the "OK" button.
- 4). Click "Start" and then "Control Panel." Click the "Programs and Features" link. After the new window appears, scroll down to the third-party wireless management program and highlight the application name. Click the "Uninstall" tab at the top of the window, then wait as Windows uninstalls the program. Reboot your computer if prompted to do so.
- 5). Click "Start" and then "Control Panel," then click the "Network and Sharing Center" option. After the new window appears, click the "Manage wireless networks" link in the left side of the window. Follow the onscreen instructions to set up your wireless adapter and connect to a network. Restart your PC if Windows prompts you to do so.
