How to Determine the Distance Between a Counter & Wall Cabinets
- 1). Place a level on the counter top to test whether it is perfectly level. The bubble should be right between the two lines on the level if the surface is perfectly flat.
- 2). Press the level up against the bottom of the cabinet to test whether it is level. If either the cabinet bottom or counter top is not perfectly level, the distance between the counter and cabinet may vary from one spot to another.
- 3). Place the end of the measuring tape on the counter top and then measure up to the bottom of the cabinet to determine the distance between them.
- 4). Repeat Step 3 for all four corners of the cabinet of the cabinet and counter top were not perfectly level. There may be slight discrepancy in the distance for each corner.
