Do It Yourself Soundproofing for Windows
- 1). Measure the window using measuring tape to determine the window height and width. Close the window and wipe any dirt or dust off the glass.
- 2). Roll out the soundproofing foam. Draw the dimensions of the window on the foam using a marker or pen.
- 3). Cut out the foam with scissors or a utility knife.
- 4). Slide the soundproofing foam against the window and feel around the window to make sure that it is flush with the edges of the foam.
- 5). Pull off a long strip of packaging tape. Attach one end of the tape to the corner of the window, so that the tape attaches the soundproofing foam to the window or window sill. Pull the tape down so that it runs along the edge of the soundproofing foam. Repeat this process for each edge of the soundproofing foam.
