Where Do I Install Window Pulls on Sash Windows?
- There are two primary types of window pulls, otherwise known as sash lifts. A flush mount pull sits flat against the bottom board of the sash, and a specialty pull is designed to be installed in a routed pocket at the bottom of the sash.
- To install a window pull in a routed pocket, place the pull onto the routing and use fasteners approved by your window manufacturer. To install a flush mount pull, you will need to measure the width of your window sash, indicate a center point, and place the center point of your window pull on that mark.
- Make sure your window pull is far enough below the glass that you do not damage the window pane. Also make sure the screws you are using are not too long, as they may penetrate to the exterior of the sash.
