    Removal of Factory-Installed Radio

    • 1). Disconnect the negative battery cable, These are usually black. This will prevent any chance of electrical shock or shorts.

    • 2). Look for the two holes on either side of the factory radio and carefully insert the DIN tool (or a cut coat hanger) about an inch. There should be an audible click.

    • 3). Spread the DIN tool (or coat hanger) slightly. This releases the clips inside and allows you to slide the factory radio out.

    • 4). Disconnect the antenna and wiring harness. Do not break the plastic clips that hold the wiring harness in place. Use a flat-head screwdriver if necessary.

    • 5). Remove the factory radio and DIN sleeve.

    Installing the DIN Receiver

    • 1). Follow the instructions supplied by the aftermarket receiver on how to connect the wiring adapter.

    • 2). Hold the aftermarket receiver near the dash and connect the wiring adapter to the factory harness. Plug in the antenna to the back of the new receiver.

    • 3). Slide the assembly into the dash and secure it.

    • 4). Reconnect the battery and test the aftermarket receiver operation.

    Dash Spearker Replacement

    • 1). Disconnect the negative battery cable again.

    • 2). Pry off gently the speaker grille with the panel tool or a flat-head screwdriver.

    • 3). Pull out the speaker, disconnect the wiring and remove the factory speaker.

    • 4). Cut the wire with wire cutters behind the factory harness and strip 1/2 inch of the plastic off the wire. Do this for both the positive (usually red) and negative (usually black) wires.

    • 5). Twist the bare ends of the positive factory wire and the after market speaker wire together and insert the crimp cap. Repeat for the negative wires. Use the wire cutters to squeeze the crimp cap to ensure a good connection.

    • 6). Attach the wires to the factory speaker as directed in the aftermarket speaker manual.

    • 7). Secure the new speakers with the two Torx screws that you previously removed.

    • 8). Reconnect the battery and test the speaker.

    Replacing the Door Speakers

    • 1). Pry off carefully the "sail" panel. These are triangular plastic panel near the window and mirror). Disconnect the mirror switch.

    • 2). Pry off the small round screw cover behind the door handle, using a flat-head screwdriver. Remove one T30 Torx screw.

    • 3). Find the two T30 Torx screws at the bottom of the door panel and remove them.

    • 4). Press in the small circular plastic retaining clip located on the rear (furthest from the front of the car) edge of door panel. Pry out the clip.

    • 5). Pry off the front half of the door handle with a flat-head screwdriver. Remove the two Trox T30 screws.

    • 6). Pry loose with a flat-head screwdriver the edges of the door panels and release the retaining clips. Remove the door panel and disconnect any electrical connectors.

    • 7). Remove the foam layer that covers the speakers. Use a Phillips-head screw driver to remove the four speaker screws. Pull out the speaker, disconnect it and then remove it.

    • 8). Remove the three Torx T30 screws that attach to the factory speaker bracket and install the aftermarket speaker bracket.

    • 9). Mount the speaker into the aftermarket bracket and wire the speaker.

      Replace the screws, reconnect the battery and test the speaker. Reinstall the door panel.

    Rear Speakers

    • 1). Take out the cargo cover, fold down the back seat and disconnect the battery.

    • 2). Pry off the speaker grille with a flat-head screwdriver.

    • 3). Remove the six T25 Torx screws. There will be three alongside the grille, one under the seat latch, two under the grille, and one under the cargo cover support. Lift out the cover bracket.

    • 4). Remove the four Torx T25 screws that hold the speaker in place and disconnected the speaker wiring.

    • 5). Wire the speakers.

    • 6). Replace the screws and secure the new speakers. Reattach the battery, test the speaker and reinstall the grille.
