    Antenna Set-up

    • 1). Park the Mustang in an area that offers direct line of sight to the sky. The satellite receiver will need an unobstructed line to the satellite for initializing after the installation.

    • 2). Remove the plastic cover from the satellite receiver antenna and wire.

    • 3). Place the magnetic antenna on the hood at least 3 inches from the edge of the hood. The recommended position is 3 inches away from the back windshield with the wire directed toward the back of the Mustang. Three inches of metal surrounding the antenna in all directions is the minimum standard to ensure quality reception.

    • 4). Route the antenna wire along the rear windshield seam and down the left side of the glass. Tuck the wire into the seam using a trim panel tool.

    • 5). Open the Mustang's trunk and route the wire into the cargo area. Place a strip of electrical tape on the edge of the truck compartment where the antenna wire will enter the trunk to protect it from damage.

    • 6). Remove the carpeting by hand on the left side of the cargo area to conceal the antenna wire. Route the wire from the back of the cargo area through the rear seats and into the cabin of the vehicle. Replace the carpeting.

    • 7). Lay the antenna wiring along the door opening to the front of the Mustang. Use the gap between the door opening and the floor of the vehicle to conceal the wire.

    Satellite Radio Receiver Mount Set-up

    • 1). Remove the plastic cover over the receiver's dock mount. The mounting will have an adhesive intended to stick to the front windshield. Place the sticky side of the mount against the inside of the windshield in a location that will not obstruct your view while driving.

    • 2). Place the receiver onto the dock. The dock will securely hold the receiver in place. Angle the receiver toward you for easy view of the front display.

    • 3). Plug the power adapter into the outlet labeled "power" on the side of the receiver.

    Connect the Antennas

    • 1). Plug the antenna wire from the rear windshield antenna to the antenna input on the side of the receiver.

    • 2). Plug the FM antenna extender into the outlet on the side of the receiver opposite the power input.

    • 3). Route the FM antenna extender to the right side of the dashboard. Use the creases in the dashboard to conceal the wire for a more professional look.

    • 4). Place the FM antenna extender suction devices onto the front windshield. The Mustang's FM antenna extends from the hood on the right side of the vehicle. The FM extender should run parallel to that antenna. Make sure the FM extender antenna wire is taut between the two suction points on the inside of the windshield.

    Final Connections and Activation

    • 1). Plug the power adapter into the cigarette lighter and power on the receiver.

    • 2). Tune the stereo to an unoccupied radio frequency. Use the tuning control on the face of the satellite receiver to tune it to the exact same frequency.

    • 3). Turn the volume all the way down on the satellite receiver and up on your vehicle's stereo. If static is heard, choose another idle frequency.

    • 4). Contact your satellite radio service provider and activate your service.
