    • 1). Use a tape measure to measure the space from bottom of the cabinet to the floor's surface. Subtract 1/8 inch from this measurement to allow for expansion of wood. Measure the length of the cabinet with the tape measure and add 1/2 inch for trimming space after placement.

    • 2). Mark the measurements onto the toe kick board using a pencil and a straightedge to serve as a guide for cutting.

    • 3). Put on a pair of safety goggles to protect from flying splinters. Attach the board to a pair of clamps for steady cutting.

    • 4). Place the base of a circular saw onto the wood with the blade aligned with the cutting line along the length of the toe kick. Trigger the blade and cut along the marked line, narrowing the toe kick down to installation size. Repeat the cutting process along the sides of the toe kick to cut it to the needed width.

    • 5). Test the fit of the toe kick on the base of the cabinet. Mark the length of the toe kick where the cabinet ends with the pencil and put the toe kick back in the clamps. Cut the small section of wood with the circular saw along the new marked line to adjust the length to fit the cabinet.
