When Do You Plant Morning Glory Flowers?
- Plant morning glories after the last frost of the season, which typically takes place in mid to late May. If you are planting indoors, you may plant the seeds three to four weeks before the last frost and then transplant them once the ground warms up. Before planting, soak the seeds in warm water for up to 24 hours to help them germinate faster.
- Some varieties of morning glory grow in vines, so it's best to plant them close to a structure that will support them. In doing so, make sure they will get plenty of sunlight.
- Morning glories germinate within a week; once this happens, you can start training them towards the area you want them to grow against. Lean them in the direction of the intended support. Unless they begin growing in an unintended area, they do not need pruning.
