How to Wash Untreated Wood Floor
- 1). Sweep the floor before washing to collect loose dirt that will sweep away easily.
- 2). Pour a gallon of warm water into a cleaning bucket, followed by 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar. The vinegar will clean the floor without causing damage or discoloration.
- 3). Dip a sponge into the solution if the area is small, a mop if it is large. Wring out to remove as much excess moisture as possible.
- 4). Wipe over the floor one section at a time, working in 3-foot by 3-foot areas.
- 5). Rub back over the areas as they are cleaned, using a dry sponge or mop to collect moisture left behind. This will prevent oversaturation and give longer life to the wood flooring.
