How to Clamp With Folding Wedges
- 1). Slice two sections of 1-by-1 inch wood to three inches. Place your pencil at the center of either end of the 3-inch wood piece and draw a straight line to either opposing corner. Repeat this on the second wood piece. This angled line will guide your band-saw and create opposing wedges. Cut each wood piece along the diagonal line, with the band-saw. Discard the smaller section of each cut.
- 2). Slide the two wedges together along their angled slopes, equal and opposite of each other. This will form a flat surface onto which the clamp will secure.
- 3). Slip the C clamp over the workpiece and the folded wedges. Twist or ratchet the C clamp until it firmly squeezes the folding wedges to the workpiece.
