How to Remove the Console on a Chevy Safari
- 1). Move both of the front seats all the way back to gain access to the bottom edge of the console. Inspect either side of the bottom edge of the console where the plastic meets the carpet. You'll see a nut on each side.
- 2). Remove the two nuts with a socket or open-ended wrench. Inspect the top edge of the console on both sides. You'll see a small Phillips screw on each side.
- 3). Remove the two Phillips screws. Grasp the top part of the console beneath the air conditioner controls. Grasp the bottom part of the console beneath the slide out cup holder.
- 4). Pull the console away gently. You'll see an electrical harness attached to the back of it. Push the plastic tab on the harness to disconnect it. The console is now separated from the floorboard and the dash. Move it out of the vehicle.
