    • 1). Right-click the folder or file for which you want to change permissions, click "Properties" and then click the "Security" tab.

    • 2). Click the user for whom you want to change permissions under "Group or User Names" and then click "Edit."

    • 3). Check the boxes under "Allow" or "Deny." Select one or more of the following options: "Full Control," to allow or deny users to create, see or change file and folder contents and run programs in folders; "Modify," to allow users to change files and folders but not create new ones; "Read & Execute," to allow users to see but not change files and folders and to run programs in folders; "Read," to allow users to see and open files and folders and run programs in folders; or "Write," to allow users to make changes to files and folders as well as create new ones.

    • 4). Click "Apply" and then click "OK." Repeat these steps to change permissions for other users and groups.
