    • 1). Eject the magazine and ensure that there are no bullets in the clip, then rack the bolt action on the Ruger several times to make sure the weapon is completely unloaded. Once you have made sure there are no bullets in either the gun or the magazine, insert the magazine back into the Ruger's handle.

    • 2). Use your flat-blade screwdriver to pull the small lever up and out of the back of the Ruger's handle.

    • 3). Pull the entire pin assembly that is attached to the lever straight down to detach it from the main body of the Ruger.

    • 4). Pull the bolt assembly straight back out of the Ruger, then push the spring forward slightly and lift up. It should come right out of the bolt assembly.

    • 5). Eject the magazine from the Ruger, then push the barrel of the Ruger forward and lift it up to remove it.
