    • 1). Wrap the shower head in an old rag at the point where it screws onto the pipe coming out of the wall. Close adjustable pliers over the rag and unscrew the shower head. Set it aside.

    • 2). Remove the exposed washer. Replace it with a new washer of the same size.

    • 3). Wrap the end of the outlet pipe in plumber's tape. Press the loose end of the tape into the top threads of the outlet pipe, and wrap the tape around the threaded portion of the pipe as you pull it taut.

    • 4). Screw the shower head back on the outlet pipe, over the plumber's tape. Wrap the shower head in the rag again and tighten it further with the pliers.
